You so afraid of your child to fail, like those closest to you did so easily.
You yell and you holler and the slightest imperfection.
You vicious anger seeps through every pore.
You fear for your only daughter, your pride and joy to fail like those who came before me , for me to loose my flame inside me.
But, you do not realize with every scream, slap, and acrid word .
The fire grows dimmer and dimmer .
One day it will be no more.
You think you’re just a speck
A mere piece of the universe
Child, you’re wrong
You may feel you’re not smart, worthless, and mediocre
Child, your wrong
The universe is big, bright and large, and we are all a part of it
Each star that makes up the cosmic quilt we call the universe
Some may be brighter, some may be dull, but all are stars
Scattered throughout the universe
You’re a star in your own right, child
An important part of this cosmic quilt we call the universe.
